FURIOUS Astra’s answer to Performance

Finally, at long last Opel has charmed us and gave us what we've been forward to the Astra OPC.

The Astra GTC and Astra OPC hot-hatch would grow Opel Australia’s Astra range to four variants, joining the five-door hatch and wagon body styles already confirmed for the brand’s launch in the third quarter of 2012 in the Geneva Motor Show. The Opel OPC mingles itself in the automobile industry, just like its five-door sibling in terms of perception, styling and remains well-built, thoughtful, interesting and good to drive.
The OPC is there and it’s packing some impressive firepower. See what I mean, it’s true what they say; when people emphasize that “Dynamite comes in small packages” it’s a great way of explaining the OPC. Astra’s basic tip of the formula remains the same, with a front-engine, front-wheel-drive three door hot hatch coupe with six-speed manual. Mounted with a four cylinder 2.0-liter turbo with direct injection which pushes a maximum power of 209Kw and 400Nm of maximum torque according to the brochure, which makes it the most powerful Astra ever built and will be a natural rival for models such as the Ford Focus RS (no longer seen as new) and the VW Golf R not forgetting the Megane RS Sport Cup, very impressive for a coupe of its kind. The top speed of the OPC is 250Km/h governed and this is no-secret while it reaches speeds from 0-100km from standstill in just 5.8seconds according to the brochure.
The Golf R has an incredible power that has a permanent 4motion all-wheel-drive with a unique R sports suspension that ensures optional handling regardless of its sensitive power steering. The R-line delivers more power when it’s comes to performance package, its 2.0-litre Turbo-charged Stratified Injection (TSI) engine that pushes maximum power of 188Kw of pure refined fury, propelling the Golf R from 0-100Km from standstill in just under 5.5 seconds (with DSG model), and 5.7 seconds (with manual model) according to the brochure, and with a maximum torque of 350Nm between 2,500 and 5,000 rpm with a governed top speed of 250Km/h.The hatch has an electrical limited slip differential (LSD),electronically controlled Flex Ride active suspension. You will love inner space of the vehicle it’s really “spacious” as I would put it. The Astra comes with specially sculpted front and rear bumpers, side skirts, a roof spoiler and dual trapezoidal tailpipes, while the black-on-black interior is dominated by the leather-trimmed Recaro-style sport seats embossed with the OPC logo, a flat OPC sports leather steering wheel with special instruments.

Spinners and Drifters unite in Soshanguve to show-case there talents.
By: Bruce Mbingeleli

The Soshanguve Spinning Palace (SSP) held an event that took place this weekend at Block F industrial site, which brought down the curtain to one of the closest-fought spinners, drifters in Pretoria.

Car enthusiast from Soshanguve, Ga-Rankuwa and Mabopane came out in their numbers to support the SSP; this was highlighted as one epic event due to the number of spinners and drifters from Gauteng who were also part-en-parcel of this occasion. “ I’m really happy with the organizers they way they organized the event, I’m overwhelmed with the attendance of the people and I’m so excited that I’ll be showcasing my skills, and the adreline rush that you get when people are screaming for more when your inside the car it’s really amazing” said Ricardo Carls who lives in Johannesburg, Florida. Spinners who attended the spinning event went all out in entertaining the people, by performing different types of stunts which left some of the masses amazed, shocked by the way the spinners and drifters did their stunts, somewhere hectic but truly impressive.  The stunt which caught people’s attention was the way the tyres were place and the drivers had to do drift around the tyres, once you’re in the circuit the spinners had to do maneuvers up until their types blow up. “It’s really not difficult in spinning a car in between tyres it’s all about timing and controlling your car and knowing when to step on the pedal, and using the steering-wheel and knowing when your about to turn” said Carls.

The Persuasion of Power
The Powerful 6.0Liter Super-Car Lumina SS
By: Bruce Mbingeleli

One look at the superior design and you’ll be hooked by its beauty. Look under the bonnet you’re looking at a 6.0 liter V8 engine, packing a massive 220Kw of power and you’ll know it’s a beast. The Lumina SS Chevrolet.

WIMMER’S MODIFIED AMG

In recent years I have noticed that there are two types of car modification, the ooh so beautiful and damn crazy out of this world designing. The Wimmer Company made extreme changes to the Mercedes-BensC63 AMG. Wimmer pimped the 6.3litre V8 engine it all back sport camshafts and cylinder heads as standard. Manifolds and pipes Streamer and broadband catalyst is the next step they are taking. After the optimization of the intake air, exhaust stainless sports equipment and adjust the air filter just swimmer electronic machines did the job perfectly. The results of all this action is very strong pushing 448Kw and 702Nm of torque with no means of terrible conditions at fast speed. The end result of all the comparative strength of 2.79kg/hp with a machine with a conversion price of € 19.900 Wimmer an estimate of R199, 023.20.

Mercedes-Bens C63 AMG is fitted with BBS-CH wheels in the dimension-r equipped with or 9.5x19inches.rear axle vehicle is equipped with Dunlop tires in sizes 235/35-19 and 265/35-19 on the front. Interally, the suspension is proposed in euro 3600 is reinstalled. This is truly a beautiful car that has been modified by Wimmer Company, true perfection when it comes to performance.

INNOVATIVE TOYBARU TIMELINE

By: Bruce Mbingeleli

Seven Concepts over nearly five years. Enough with the teasing & waiting just give us the Damn Car...

1.    Toyota FT-HS 01/2007
It had nothing to do with the FT-86; it was a big V6 RWD hybrid. But styling is influential.
2.    Toyota FT-86 10/2009

The real start of things from Toyota. This puts a marker in the automotive industry, not production-feasible yet. The FT-86 is powered not by a Toyota engine, but by Subaru’s 2.0L “Boxer” engine (WRX, anyone?). With that engine, power to the rear wheels and an asking price of around $20,000, the FT-86′s specifications read like a wish list of what many have been asking for.

3.    Toyota FT-86 03/2011

Near-final body style. Toyota has no other sports-car, so this couldn’t cost any sales.

4.    Subaru Concept 03/2011

By unveiling Boxer Sports-Car Architecture, Subaru shows it did the engineering.

5.    Scion FR-S 04/2011

Toyota will sell it under its Scion “youth brand” in the US, so time for another concept please.

6.    Toyota FT-86II 09/2011

Earlier car resprayed, with fewer headlines but gets Frankfurt and JIMS show goers onto the stands.
7.    Subaru BRZ STI 11/2011

A big wing and tailpipes to celebrate Subaru’s tuner arm-BRZ is the real name.
